Getting Started

You will need a Mobile Internet Ready cellular phone. Ask a consultant for details on available models and demonstration of the Mobile Web. Cellnet currently stocks the Qualcomm 860, Motorola V8160,  Motorola StarTac 7860 and 7868, Samsung SCH850 and the Audiovox CDM9000.

Once you get your phone, you�ll need to �condition� it for Mobile Web service. This is a one-time set-up process that lets the Verizon system know that your phone is enabled for Web browsing:

1.       Launch your phone�s browser. You�ll see a �Welcome Message� that asks you to wait 15 minutes. Press �OK� to confirm and exit.

2.       After waiting 15 minutes, launch your browser again. You�ll receive a second message saying that security is not enabled. Press OK to enable security, which may take several minutes, during which you will be charged airtime. Do NOT interrupt this process, or you�ll have to go through the registration again.

3.       Once registration is complete, your browser will automatically go to the Mobile Web Home Page. This confirms that you are registered for Mobile Web service.

You�re ready to go! Check the instruction manual that came with your phone for specific directions on how to navigate the Web from your phone. If you need a quick tutorial, please ask one of our Sales Consultants.

 MyVerizon on the Go

The my.vzw.com option on your Mobile Web Home Page gives you access to all the personalized information available through you�re My Verizon account. You can  set up your account from your desktop by visiting myvzw.com via any Internet connection, or right from your phone. It�s all there in the palm of your hand.

There are many myvzw.com options currently available:

1.       Email � send, receive, forward and reply to email using your free Verizon Mobile Web email account.

2.       Addresses � your personal address book. Pull up an entry, and one click connects the call. Or you can click on the email address and send an email from your phone.

3.       Calendar � keep track of appointments wherever you go. You can even add TV listings from the desktop version of myvzw.com

4.       My News � headlines in multiple categories.

5.       My Weather � check out the forecast on the fly.

6.       My Stocks � your personal, traveling portfolio.

7.       My Sports � scores, news and more.

8.       My Fun � movies, horoscopes, lottery results, concerts, ski reports and entertainment news.

9.       User Profile � update your myvzw.com  profile.

10.  Shopping � A growing list of merchants at your fingertips.
