Frequently Asked Questions 1. I have a plan that includes long distance. Why are there sometimes charges for tolls on my bill? Depending on the rate plan selected, some rates only include long distance on calls originating in the home market and terminating within the United States. For information on other rate plan options, please contact your Cellnet Communication Consultant. 2. I
just received my first bill from Cellnet.
Why is it so expensive? Usually activations and/or rate changes take effect in the middle of a billing cycle. This means that you are charged a pro-rated amount for the selected plan and features from the date of activation/change to the end of the current cycle. You are also charged a month in advance for your plans access charge and features. Also, new activations require an activation fee. If you did not pay this fee at the time you picked up your phone, it is added to your first bill. Example: You sign up on the 23rd of the month, for a plan that costs $49.99 per month. Lets say that your billing cycle ends on the 8th of the month. Your charges for the rate plan would look like this: January
23 through February 8 -
L-500 Plan
$27.41 In addition to this, your included airtime and all charges for calling features are also pro-rated. Therefore, for the period of January 23rd through February 8th, in this example, would only include 283 minutes instead of 500. 3.
Why does my phone work great in some
areas, and not so great in others? Since cellular technology is based on radio signals, many things can interfere with clear service. Weather conditions, power lines, tall buildings, system congestion, etc. all can contribute to a degraded cellular signal. 4. Why
do your contracts automatically renew? For your convenience, and to be able to continue offering very competitive rates, our contracts automatically renew on their anniversary date unless you let us know in writing that you do not wish it to do so. Please see your Cellnet Terms And Conditions Brochure for additional information. 5. What
is roaming? Roaming is the ability to use your phone outside of your home service area. When cellular users are away from their home service area, the roaming feature allows them to use another cellular carriers towers to place and receive calls. The cost for roaming is substantially higher than for usage in your home area. Roaming minutes are not part of a package plan. Cellnet offers a wide range of programs, some of which include roaming at no additional cost to the user. 6. What
are toll calls? Toll calls, also referred to as long distance calls, occur when the number called from your cellular phone is not part of your local calling area. The local calling area for the Detroit market is the 248, 810, 734 and 313 area codes. Also, calls made to directory assistance are considered toll calls even though they are within these area codes. 7. Who do I call when I am having a problem with my phone?
