Setting up the features
on your Cellnet/Verizon phone
Voice Mail
To set up your voice mail for the first time.
1. From your cellular phone, dial *86 SEND.
From a landline phone, or outside your home
coverage area, call your cellular number and press
* during the greeting.
2. The system will ask you to enter your
password. Enter your complete cellular number,
including area code, followed by the # key.
3. You will be asked to enter a new password
from 4 to 10 digits long, which does not begin with
zero.
4. Continue following the prompts to set up
your mailbox. All steps must be completed to finish
the installation.
To access your voice mail from your cellular
phone
1. While in your home
coverage area, dial *86 SEND.
2. You will hear your greeting. During your
greeting press the # key.
3. Enter your password.
To access your voice mail from a landline
phone, or while
traveling outside your home coverage area.
1. Call your cellular number. You may also
need to include the area code.
2. Press * during the greeting. Enter your
password followed by the # key.
Main menu
Press 1 to receive new messages.
Press 2 to send messages. (Enhanced Voice Mail
only)
Press 3 to review selected messages.
Press 81 for mailbox management or to change your
settings.
Press # to exit.
(Message retrieval from your cellular phone is
airtime free while in your home coverage area.
Landline charges apply. A 15� per minute airtime
fee will be charged for message deposits and
retrieval.)
Call Waiting
To activate
Dial *81, SEND; listen for confirmation; press END.
To use Call Waiting:
A short tone will let you know that you have a call
waiting.
Press SEND to put first call on hold and talk to
the second caller.
Press SEND again to return to the first call.
These steps may be repeated.
To deactivate
Press *810, SEND; listen for confirmation; press
END.
Three-Way Conference
Calling
To initiate:
With original call in progress, dial third
party�s number and press SEND.
When the third party answers, press SEND to connect
all three parties.
If one party hangs up, you will still be connected
to the other party. When you hang up or press END,
all parties will be disconnected.
For PowerbandSM Digital Cellular subscribers to
initiate:
Place call in progress on hold by pressing SEND.
Listen for tone, enter second number and press
SEND.
When second party answers, press SEND to connect
all three parties. If one party hangs up, you will
still be connected to the other party. When you
hang up or press END, all parties will be
disconnected.
No Answer/Busy Transfer
To activate
For No Answer Transfer, press *74 and the ten-digit
phone number to which calls should be transferred.
Press SEND; listen for confirmation; press END.
For Busy Transfer, press *73 and the ten-digit
phone number to which calls should be transferred.
Press SEND; listen for confirmation; press END.
To deactivate
For No Answer Transfer, press *740, SEND; listen
for confirmation; press END.
For Busy Transfer, press *730, SEND; listen for
confirmation; press END.
When using this feature with voice mail, call
Cellnet customer service for additional
instructions.
(Although this feature can only be activated from
your home coverage area, it can be used to forward
calls beyond your home coverage area. Calls
forwarded to a non-cellular number are not charged
cellular airtime. However, a nominal local
telephone company "pass-through" charge
will appear on your Cellnet account statement.)
Call Forwarding
To activate
Press *71 and the ten-digit phone number to which
calls should be forwarded.
Press SEND; listen for confirmation; press END.
To deactivate
Press *710, SEND; listen for confirmation; press
END.
(Although this feature can only be activated from
your home coverage area, it can be used to forward
calls beyond your home coverage area. Calls
forwarded to a non-cellular number are not charged
cellular airtime. However, a nominal local
telephone company "pass-through" charge
will appear on your Cellnet account statement.)
Extended Call DeliverySM
Calls will automatically be delivered to you while
traveling outside your home coverage area. Most
custom calling features to which you subscribe will
also follow you. In some areas, voice mail will not
function unless Extended Call Delivery is
suppressed.
To suppress Extended Call Delivery while roaming:
PRESS *35, SEND; Listen for confirmation; press
END.
To resume Extended Call Delivery while roaming:
PRESS *350, SEND; Listen for confirmation; press
END.
(Select markets only. Suppressing extended Call
Delivery will not block incoming calls received
through roamer port.)
Caller ID
Mobile telephone numbers may now be displayed on
landline and wireless phones equipped with the
Caller ID service feature. To safeguard your
privacy, the following options are available:
Complete Blocking
You may request this option by calling Cellnet
Customer Service at #111.
Complete Blocking will automatically prevent your
mobile number from being shown to Caller ID
subscribers. If you would like to transmit your
mobile number to a Caller ID subscriber on a
per-call basis, you may add *82 before the phone
number when you place a call. For example, *82-Area
Code-555-5555, SEND.
Selective Blocking
This option is automatically present on to your
service unless you select Complete Blocking.
Selective Blocking allows Caller ID subscribers to
see your mobile number unless you block it by
including *67 before the phone number when you
place a call. For example, *67-Area Code-555-5555,
SEND.
PIN Protection
A Personal Identification Number (PIN) helps
protect your cellular service from cloning and
unauthorized use.
To turn PIN Protection off, and place calls:
Dial *560, your four-digit PIN, and SEND; listen
for confirmation; press END.
To turn PIN Protection on, and secure your service:
Dial *56, your four-digit PIN, and SEND; listen for
confirmation; press END.
*Applicable airtime, local toll, roaming, landline
access and long distance charges may apply to some
or all of the above features.
