The research firm Screen Digest examines the market for mobile music and believes that the success of the latter can only come from its free, included in packages or offers unlimited access.
While the majors of the recording industry are beginning to release the clamp locks on their digital catalog and considering content offerings in large or unlimited access not only to act, the research firm Screen Digest believes that this is the only way possible in the future.
In its report covering 27 countries, analysts note that the value of mobile music sales will double between 2007 (1.6 billion euros) and 2012 (3.2 billion euros), with still an important component consists of tones but also a strong increase in sales of securities, which represent 46% of sales within 4 years.
And even though sales of securities in the U.S. and European markets account for only 219 million euros on a total of 1.31 billion euro represents music online, they greatly influence the choice of mobile phones and their rate renewal.
And if not a major source of income for operators, mobile music can play a role in the purchase attractive terminals. This is already happening with offers of Nokia (Comes with Music), Apple (iTunes Music Store) or Sony Ericsson (PlayNow).
